This week has been a super hot week! It's winter and I feel like
I'm in the Amazon it's so humid. But, I'm not complaining! Skipping winter
would be nice!
Happy Birthday JT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On Monday we had a Family Home Evening with two families from
the ward and we were running late and Hermana Simmons and I were running as
fast as we could and I fell on my face…Like biffed it hard! I'm alive but
it was so funny! and, the Family Home Evening
went so well!
This week we studied from Lesson 3 in Preach My Gospel about The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of my favorite scriptures in this chapter were:
Through Christ we can be cleansed from sin-Alma 11:40, D&C
45:3-5
Faith in Jesus Christ- Alma 32:26-27
Repentance- Helaman 5:10-12, D&C 58:42-43 and learning about the
gift of forgiveness
Baptism- Mosiah 18:8-10, Moroni 8:25-26
The gift of the Holy Ghost- Galatians 5:22-23, Moroni 10:5
Endure to the end- D&C 14:7, 2 Nephi 31:14-20
I am starting to get a hang of this training thing and I have
learned that Hermana Simmons is with me and I am with her for a huge reason. We
are loving our time together. She is an amazing listener and she does absolutely
everything possible to help me in everything. She is beginning to gain a lot
more confidence in her speaking ability and I love it! She is doing so well!
This time in the mission has brought me so much closer to
Christ. I feel like I know him. Someone once said the "You can't love
something you don't know". It's true. I have learned a lot about this in
these short 11 months. I love Christ because I have come to know him. I love
every person here that I have met because I want to know them. I love my
companion because every day it is my goal to get to know her a little more, know
how to help her, know how we can work in unity and know how I can love her. I
have learned so much about the gift that everyone has to really come to know
Christ and be eternally happy through him. I love it. :)
I have had so many powerful experiences of feeling the
promptings of the Holy Ghost this week. Answers are real, they are simple but
they are real. As some of our investigators get their answers I just get so
happy because I know that the power is real.
"Your testimony you have today will not be your testimony
of tomorrow. You testimony is either going to grow and grow until it becomes
the brightness of the sun, or it is going to diminish to nothing, depending on
what you do about it."
-Harold
B. Lee
"Because of our Father's desire for us to grow, he may give
us gentle, almost imperceptible promptings that, if we are willing to accept
without complaint, he will enlarge it to become a very clear indication of His
will."
"The issue for us is trusting God enough to trust also His
timing. If we can truly believe he has our welfare at heart, may we not let his
plans unfold as he thinks best?"
-Richard
G. Scott
Jhenny and Daniel got baptized on Saturday and it was just
amazing. It was planned so well and all of the members were so willing to help.
It was a super spiritual experience and I am so happy for their family. My
heart just loves it here, I don't ever want to leave.
